Products are made from Scotland’s Harris Tweed, the original Tweed cloth. A genuine Harris Tweed product bears the Harris Tweed Orb Mark.
Harris Tweed is spun from pure, new Scottish wool and is available in many vibrant colours and patterns.
The wool is dyed in base colours and virtually any shade of yarn can be produced by blending the coloured wool. These intermingled yarns make Harris Tweed unlike any other fabric.
Other fabrics are made from yarn dyed in just single colours. It is this unique mixing process which gives Harris Tweed its extraordinary richness.
The cloth is then handwoven in the weavers’ homes on the Scottish islands of Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barra in the Outer Hebrides.
